NATIONAL RESPONSE PLAN

The National Response Plan (NRP), released in 2004, establishes a comprehensive all-hazards approach to domestic incident management across a broad spectrum of activities.  NRP builds on NIMS to specify how the resources of the Federal Government will work in concert with state, local and Tribal and the private sector to respond to incidents of national significance.

Why is this important in burn disaster planning?  To effectively write a burn center disaster plan, it is critical to understand the framework in which it will operate.  Familiarity with the National Response Plan gives the planner the big picture  and facilitates communication with other response agencies.
